How does the selection process work?

The winner will be selected in three phases from all complete applications received by the end of the application phase:
Phase 1: Our qualified jury selects 3 nominees per category from all applications.
Phase 2: Everyone can support their favourite by casting their vote in the public voting.
Phase 3: The jury selects the boot dive Awards winners, the public vote counts as one vote!

What is the selection criteria?

Our jury will select the winning projects based on the following criteria:

effectiveness
The topic has the potential to have a clear and continuous impact in the sense of the respective category.

participation
As many people as possible are integrated into the project and/or participate in it.

networking
The project motivates other people and achieves the greatest possible impact.

THESE ARE THE FIVE CATEGORIES

Personality: This category is about people. Outstanding athletes, underwater or nature filmmakers or people from other areas who have made a special public contribution to diving, the diving industry and the oceans are honoured here.

Product: This is about equipment and technology. It doesn’t necessarily have to be the biggest, fastest or most expensive piece of equipment that makes a diver’s life easier. Perhaps the clever trick lies in the detail? Or in a new type of material that has never been used before? Or in the fact that a tried and tested product can now be manufactured in a particularly environmentally friendly way using new technologies?

Destination: Diving is more closely linked to travelling than almost any other water sport. The Destination category is therefore dedicated to touristic aspects. After all, divers set off all over the world to explore the wonders of the underwater world. This category therefore contains destinations and tourist offers that are particularly well catered for divers. Destinations and regions as a whole as well as individual hotels, diving centres or liveaboards can apply.

Climate: The Climate section is all about projects and initiatives that are making special progress towards climate protection and climate neutrality. For example, scientists, lobbyists and environmental organisations can be nominated – in short, anyone whose work or project is dedicated to the health of our oceans and the life in them. After all, climate change is the greatest threat to oceans and waters.

Innovation: This category says a lot about the future viability of an industry. In this category, we celebrate people, companies and initiatives that have made a special contribution to the future viability of the diving industry. The future viability of the diving industry, its foundations and resources. Where are the concepts and projects that are making the diving industry fit for the future? Where are the ideas that are shaping the world of tomorrow with a breath of fresh air and forward-looking energy?

Main sponsor of the event in 2025 will be the German manufacturer for breathing gas compressors BAUER.
